Informed Visibility® Mail Tracking & Reporting (IV-MTR)

The Informed Visibility® Mail Tracking & Reporting (IV-MTR) application enables mailers to leverage key information about their mailings to manage operations, refine processes, and adjust marketing campaigns as needed. This insight allows mailers to more effectively plan and manage mailings, increasing value to their customers.

  • Provides near real-time, end-to-end mail tracking information for letter and flat pieces, bundles, handling units, and containers.
  • Leverages the intelligence of full-service Intelligent Mail to create logical and assumed handling events that provide expanded visibility.
  • Improves ease of use through flexible data provisioning and flexible data delegation, allowing mailers to receive and share the information they want, when they want, and how they want.

Applying for Access to IV-MTR through the Business Customer Gateway (BCG)

To access the IV-MTR service, you need:

  1. A designated Business Service Administrator (BSA)
  2. Any existing Customer Registration IDs (CRIDs) you want access to
  3. An existing Business Customer Gateway (BCG) account
  4. IV-MTR privileges (requested and granted through the BCG)

Registering for a Business Customer Gateway (BCG) Account

The Business Customer Gateway (BCG) is a single-entry point for multiple United States Postal Service® (USPS®) online business services, including the IV-MTR application. To access the IV-MTR application, you must first have a BCG account.

The steps for registering a BCG account are as follows:

  1. Access the BCG website: https://gateway.usps.com
  2. Select "Sign up for the BCG"
  3. Enter and verify business email address
  4. Create a USPS.com Business Account (follow on-screen instructions)
  5. Enter Company Information
  6. Enter Contact Information
  7. Enter Username and Security Settings
  8. Review and accept the Terms and Conditions
  9. Review and complete Sign-up Process

Requesting the IV-MTR Service

Once you have a BCG account, you must request access to the IV-MTR application. Access is requested through the BCG portal. Access will be granted immediately.

Here are the steps for an existing BCG account with an existing CRID:

  1. Log into the BCG
  2. Click Mailing Services
  3. Select Location(s) from drop-down menu
  4. In the list of services, find "Informed Visibility," and click Get Access. The button text changes to Go to Service.
  5. Receive email validating approval of service request.
